Panini Beach Party & Giveaway

Last week, we had an amazing Panini Beach Party at our house! You can see more of the action and guests here.
The highlight of the evening was definitely the Panini-Making Cookoff with Kraft's new Deli Deluxe slices...the winner got their own panini grill to take home!
I tried all three flavors (it was a hard job:)) and LOVED them all! I wasn't sure how keen I would be on the Jalapeno American, but it was fantastic! I grilled it with a little roasted turkey and onion jam and it was to die for.
This party was so easy to put together! I am totally doing this again! The guests each made their own panini sandwiches, so the main course was done!
For sides & desserts, we served:
"Fruit Kebabs in Sand" from Little Nummies
Beach Cupcakes (the girls made them all--SO EASY!)
Potato and Pasta Salad in Sand Pails...
and an Italian Soda Bar (a huge fav w/ everyone!) The party was so easy that I got to focus on having fun with our guests. I loved every minute! A huge thanks to Kraft and Deli Deluxe for making this possible!

We had so much fun, we want to share it with you!

Backwards, Crazy Dinner

We got a little silly yesterday....we've been talking about letter "B" so I decided to have a "backwards" dinner. You could do this for April Fools' or any time you need to have a little fun. I printed this little sign and the girls took it to the bathroom mirror to read. Then, we proceeded to have:
Meatloaf in Mugs:
(I baked them in a cupcake pan for about 30 minutes then put them in mugs. I was afraid the mugs would be too hot if I baked the meatloves in them. This worked great! My favorite meatloaf recipe is here.).
Ice Cream Cone Potatoes w/ Pea & Carrot Sprinkles:
(make your favorite mashed potatoes, put them in a ziploc baggie, snip the end and squirt into ice cream cones. Put a few cooked peas and carrots on the top for "sprinkles". I also put some peas and carrots in the bottom of the cone).
Peach & Honey Smoothies on a plate:
(I just threw some frozen peaches, vanilla protein powder, skim milk, and honey in the blender).

So, if you're feeling wild, have some fun with the family and have dinner a little Backwards! Happy Cooking!

Doggy Dinner

Who says cleaning out the freezer/fridge can't be fun? It's one of our favorite days around here! During the week, I throw our leftover veggies in a big ziploc baggie that I keep in the freezer. When it's full, I make a huge pot of veggie soup, using the Olive Garden Pasta Fagioli Soup recipe as the base.
Normally, this is kid-feeding suicide....LEFTOVER VEGGIES thrown in a soup?? Well, if you take about five extra minutes you can turn this into one of your kids' favorite dinners! It's all about presentation.;) Add some Doggie Biscuits, let them eat in the Dog House, and you have a winner!
What You Need:
Olive Garden Pasta Fagioli Soup (add your own veggies/whatever you have on hand)
Doggie Biscuits (recipe below)
The Dog House (instructions below)

Doggie Biscuits:
Ingredients:
Can of Refrigerator biscuits (any kind)
Directions:
Open can, seperate biscuits. Pinch off about half of biscuit and make into circle shape. Seperate the rest of biscuit into 3 or 4 pieces and roll into balls. Place around the top of the larger piece to look like a "pawprint". Bake as directed.
The Dog House:
Find some old sheets or tablecloths, cover them over your kitchen table so edges touch the ground. Print or make a Doghouse Sign (optional). Let them climb in to eat! Smile when they tell their teacher at school that their mom makes them eat in the doghouse.:)
Here's the Doghouse Sign, click to enlarge and print.
