I stumbled on this really fun cupcake recipe made by Kevin Menzie, you can get step-by-step instructions and pictures on how to make these fun cupcakes here. Thanks, Kevin! The neck was made from two wafers fused together with chocolate. The head is a cookie, the ears are candy corn, and the mane is made out of chocolate licorice.
Note: I would use cocolate frosting to pipe on some polka dots down the neck. Happy cooking!

How cute are these? I love your idea of adding chocolate spots.
Are you going to make these?
I'm usually not good at making cutesy kinds of things, but I did make some cute bunny cupcakes around Easter time.
SOOO cute! I am bookmarking those for sure - with three little kids, I am sure I will have the perfect opportunity to make them. Darling.
It's an honor to be mentioned on Gourmet Mom! Thanks! Good idea with the chocolate spots, too. :-)
Hi Recipegirl!:) I will FOR SURE make these. We're way past "G" at preschool, but I'm redecorating our playroom in a jungle theme and think we need to have a "housewarming party" for our new playroom. The kids can help put these together. I'll post a picture after we make them.
I really love giraffes! This is so cute! I love the chocolate spot idea!
