What would you ask Wolfgang Puck?

I found out yesterday I get to be in on a conference call with the amazingly talented Wolfgang Puck on Nov. 20. He is seriously one of my favorite chefs....
THEN, I found out that I can only ask one question.

ONE QUESTION??! HOW ABOUT A MILLION?!!!!

So, I need your help. What one question would you ask Wolfgang Puck about Holiday entertaining and cooking? We have one shot to turn ourselves into chefs and entertainers extraordaire! Help me!
This is what I'm thinking so far, but I'm not really sure. I'd love to hear your input:
I love to entertain large groups of people, but I really like to serve elegant and well-presented food. It's often hard to make a special dish or garnish for a large group. What ideas do you have for elegant food for a crowd?

What a opportunity! That is a great question! I was thinking something along the lines of "what is a great go-to recipe, if you find out you are going to be entertaining last minute. (Not too much prep, easy-to-find ingredients). But I might like your question better. Keep us posted!

I would have to ask him to marry me! He is my favorite chef:) I actually have a Wolfgang Puck kitchen, cookware, small appliances, etc. Enjoy!

If you're serving a large crowd and really want to show your skills, but don't have time or 3 sous chefs to help out..what is the one part of the meal you would focus on? What part of a meal is the most important?

What meal do you like to make for your family and what are the recipes!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I love yours! I need to check out more. Great question, BTW. It is hard to figure out an elegant dish to serve a large number of people!

WOW! I am excited for you and little jealous. How fun! I like your question, just be sure to let us know what he says! In other news, I got my box-o-chocolate today. YUM! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! When you said box I thought you meant a sampler box of chocolates, not some huge box crammed with as much chocolate as you could fit in it.

Wow, how wonderful!

My question would be: What is your favorite childhood dish and why?

(Makes me think of Ratatouille)

Congrats on your SITS day (and cool sidebar about you, by the way ;-)

WOW! I would just ask him to come host my holiday party. No biggie.... ;o)

how exciting! I think I'd ask him to say "vegetable" - I love the way he says veggie-table.

Congratulations on your Sits day as well as your Wolfgang Puck question ... you might ask him what seven items he'd take with him if he were stranded on a desert isle... or... if he were snowbound for two weeks, what food and food prep items he'd like to have in the house...or???!
I'll be waiting for details on how it all works out...I'm off now to look for a way to sign up for this blog!
Warmly,
Tracey
P.S. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Tinkerbell houses.

Wow I'd probably get all slack-jawed and not know what to ask. How about, "can I borrow 110 bucks?" or flatter him by speaking in his native tongue, "Wie ist zeine Postleitzahl?" (What is you zip code?)

Love your question! I think alot of us would love to know the answer to that!

Wow, lucky you. I love me some Wolfgang as well.

I think your question is great, but how about asking about a five ingredient recipe (or something simple like that).

BTW - Happy SITs day!

That would be hard, to narrow it down to one question of someone you admire so much. Good luck!

I'd ask him: when he went to school when he was younger, were the other kids at school intimidated by him, or was he beat up a lot, having a name like Wolfgang Puck?

Mandy said...

Dek, I didn't even know you knew about my cooking blog! I'm so honored you've moved your smart-aleck comments from our family blog to here! Woo hoo, I feel loved!:)

Nat D said...

You're so great I think you should just ask him if you can work with him!

Mandy, Cams has a neighbor friend who never repeats recipes because her husband is spoiled, anyway, Cams commented that her sister-in-law had a cooking blog called "Gourmet Mom on-the-Go" that she should look up. She went wide-eyed, "That's your sister in law!?! That's AMAZING!" Mandy... you're famous.
But I already knew that from the chocolate macademia candies.

As a fellow cook, (just not nearly as good) would you like me to not make comments on your famous blog?

Mandy said...

D, I'm always happy to have your comments, no matter what blog they're on. You probably won't get rude comments from Dan on this one since he rarely reads it. :) When are you guys coming out?? We want lasagna, we want lasagna!!

Dek said...

Cammie was drooling over your Turkey legs.

Mandy said...

Dek, I don't know whether to be flattered or insulted...out of context that really sounds like an insult....DAN is the one with Turkey Legs, not me. :)

For any of you who are reading this silliness, Turkey Legs are pretzel rods dipped in caramel, then dipped in chocolate and rolled in crushed Heath bars. Yummy!

Dek said...

Well, of course Dan has the turkey legs. But you should be flattered. Not about Danny having turkey legs, because that is weird, but because yours at tasty!!! The edible turkey legs, just to clarify, in case there was some confusion to Mandy's faithful bloggers that I'm hopefully not turning away, talking about Mandy's husband's legs, but she brought them up.
Mandy, don't go there.
