Creamy Cinnamon Squares

My neighbor gave me this recipe awhile ago and was going crazy about how fabulous it was. I though, "crescent rolls? Cream cheese? Cinnamon? Sounds good, but can't be anything to go crazy over." I have tried these and am in LOVE! Crazy, cinnamony, LOVE!!! I love that they're easy (you and the kids can prepare them in 5 minutes flat) and that they taste like yummy cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting. Note: for some reason, they are the most fabulous cold. So, let them cool for awhile, pop them in the fridge until completely cold, cut into squares, and try not to eat the whole pan by yourself.

I am not kidding. RUN, don't walk, and make this recipe. Seriously, what are you doing still reading this?....

Creamy Cinnamon Squares
Ingerdients:
2 cans Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
¾ c. white sugar
2 (8 oz. each) packages cream cheese
1 tsp. vanilla

Topping:
¼ c. white sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:
Spread 1 crescent roll package on bottom of greased 9 x 13 cake pan. Mix together 2 packages cream cheese, ¾ c. sugar, and 1 tsp. vanilla and spread on top of crescent roll. Spread 2nd crescent roll package on top of mixture. Mix ¼ c. sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon and sprinkle on top of 2nd crescent roll. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Cool for awhile, then pop into the fridge until completely cold. Cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes: Next time, I am thinking about mixing some homemade apple pie filling in with the cream cheese. I'll post a review!

I just signed up to bring a "bread" item to a breakfast in a couple of weeks. This should be perfect! Thanks :-)

I made something like this years ago, but I never put vanilla in it. I bet that puts it right 'over the top' for yumminess! Definitely gonna make these again...this time, with vanilla.

Oh my lands. That sounds like something I would REALLY enjoy. I'll have to wait until I have somewhere to take them or I'll eat WAY too many!

Hi Mandy - I'm enjoying checking out your blog. I have a recipe almost identical to this. It has 1 cup chocolate chips stirred into to cream cheese mix and no cinnamon. It's really good. I'll be trying your version too - sounds great!

i make this recipe for brunch all the time, except that i layer a can of apple pie filling over the cream cheese---and i use a bit less of the cream cheese mixture. i also like to drizzle the top with caramel sauce. yummy!
